Mr. Peter Zonepoh Chungong is a student of M.Sc. 2 of mycology in the Department of Plant Sciences, Faculty of Science in the University of Bamenda, Cameroon. He has a degree in Botany from the University of Yaounde 1 and a DI.P.E.S. II in Botany from E.N.S. Yaounde, University of Yaounde 1. He is currently the Principal of Government High School Taku-Ndu subdivision, Donga Mantung division, North West region, Cameroon. Peter as a professional teacher and has held positions of head of department for biology, coordinator of the school science club, invigilator of GCE Exams, watch-dog and examiner for Advanced Level Biology both written and practical exams. He is a member and was coordinator of Natural Science Teachers Association (NASTA) North West.

He has done research on Invitro culture of red cocoyam (axillary bud induction) and defended a dissertation Titled: changes in peroxidase and polyphenoloxidase activities in the leaves of Xanthosoma sagittifolium (cocoyam) after root infection by Pythium myriotylum, under the supervision of Prof. Omokolo Ndoumou Denis in 2001. Peter is currently a Master’s 2 student in the University of Bamenda doing research in mycology on mushroom cultivation and defended a research proposal Titled: Effects of Different Substrates on Growth, Nutrients Uptake and Productivity of Pleurotus ostreatus P. Kumm. And Comparative Analysis of Some Termitomyces and Pleurotus species for Heavy Metals and Organic Pollutants, under the supervision of Prof. Tonjock Rosemary Kinge. Peter is passionate in growing crops and rearing animals.
